Molex recentlt launched a Wi-Fi flexible antenna series for compact devices.

Wi-Fi flexible antenna series has been unveiled and its designed for fast and easy integration into wireless devices with minimal implementation cost.

The product 206994-series side-fed cable-flexible antenna enables high-performance Radio Frequency (RF) transmission for the most demanding Wi-Fi applications in our fast developing technology, including those with space constraints which normally cannot cover a very long distance.

Side-fed cable antenna designs are required and, to answer market demand, Molex has developed two side-fed cable antenna versions: the 206994 series monopole and the 204281-series dipole-style side-fed flex antennas to address the needs of particular applications where centre-fed cable antennas couldn't meet.

The 206994-series monopole addresses the requirements of small-size devices, while the 204281-series dipole supports applications that need fully balanced transmission and ground-plane independence regardless of cable length.

A highly compact Wi-Fi flexible antenna, measuring only 15.0mm x 6.0mm in order to fit within today’s space constraints, the 206994-series antenna is a new offering from Molex.

The antenna is highly compact, offers high RF performance of >70% radiation efficiency and return loss of <-10 dB. The antenna is ideal for space-constrained applications that need gain values of at least 3.6 dBi.
